The Quietest Place in Iceland

The Ring Road has become a kind of theatre, and the Eastfjords are its wings — the place where the actors go when they need to remember they are people.

I spent four days in Seyðisfjörður without meeting anyone I hadn't chosen to meet. I read a book by the harbour, watched the fog roll in, and felt, for the first time in a long time, no need to describe any of it.
